By accessing or using the GlobalPing website at https://www.globalping.net (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not access or use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and GlobalPing ("we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time as described in Section 19.
Important: You acknowledge that GlobalPing provides network diagnostic and monitoring tools that interact with network infrastructure globally. Your use of these tools is subject to the restrictions outlined in these Terms, particularly the Acceptable Use Policy (Section 4) and Network Diagnostic Tools Terms (Section 5).
2. Description of Services
GlobalPing is a comprehensive, globally distributed network diagnostic and monitoring platform. The Service provides the following features and capabilities:
2.1 Network Diagnostic Tools
- ICMP Ping — Perform ICMP echo request tests from globally distributed nodes to measure network latency, packet loss, and reachability. Supports both IPv4 and IPv6, single and continuous test modes, with real-time waveform visualization and multi-node comparison analysis.
- TCP Ping — Test TCP port connectivity from global nodes to verify service availability and measure connection latency. Supports custom port specification, IPv4/IPv6, and single/continuous modes.
- HTTP/HTTPS Speed Test — Conduct multi-node HTTP and HTTPS performance testing with detailed timing breakdowns including DNS resolution, TCP connection, TLS handshake, Time to First Byte (TTFB), and content download. Supports GET and HEAD methods, redirect tracking, certificate inspection, and status code monitoring.
- MTR (My Traceroute) — Perform continuous route tracing with hop-by-hop latency and packet loss analysis. Supports route visualization on a world map, AS/ISP information display, customizable parameters (max hops, probe count, timeout), and report image export.
- DNS Global Query — Execute multi-region DNS resolution tests supporting multiple record types (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, SOA, TXT, CAA) and protocols (UDP, TCP, DoH, DoT). Includes DNSSEC validation, EDNS subnet probing, expected IP anti-hijack detection, and global resolution distribution visualization.
- Port Scanner — Detect open ports on target hosts with custom port ranges (up to 10 ports per scan), service fingerprinting, and detailed error reporting. Includes private IP protection to prevent scanning of internal networks.
- CIDR Scanner — Scan network segments using IPv4 CIDR notation (from /21 to /32) with auto subnet detection. Supports both ICMP and TCP probe options with configurable concurrency levels for host discovery across IP ranges.
- IP Information Lookup — Retrieve detailed geolocation data (country, region, city), ISP information, and Autonomous System Number (ASN) data for any IPv4 or IPv6 address.
2.2 Global Agent Network
The Service operates through a distributed network of globally deployed agent nodes that execute diagnostic tests on behalf of Users. These agents are managed through middleware nodes, which serve as intermediary task dispatchers responsible for routing diagnostic test requests to the appropriate agents based on geographic location, availability, and health status. Both agents and middleware nodes are monitored for health, performance, and availability in real time.
2.3 Content Services
- Blog and Articles — Access educational articles, tutorials, and announcements related to network diagnostics, monitoring best practices, and platform updates.
- API Documentation — Comprehensive documentation for programmatic access to the Service's diagnostic tools.
2.4 Internationalization
The Service is available in multiple languages, including English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, with automatic language detection based on user preferences.
3. Account Registration and User Responsibilities
3.1 Account Requirements
- You may be required to create an account to access certain features of the Service. When registering, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
3.2 User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- Not impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Not use the Service in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service.
- Not use any automated means, including bots, scrapers, or scripts, to access the Service for any purpose without our express written permission, except as provided through our documented API.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
4.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Service for:
- Legitimate network diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of networks and systems you own, operate, or are authorized to test.
- Educational purposes related to network engineering and diagnostics.
- Security research and vulnerability assessment with proper authorization.
- Quality-of-service measurement and network performance benchmarking.
4.2 Prohibited Use
You must not use the Service to:
- Conduct unauthorized network scanning or probing against systems you do not own or have explicit written authorization to test.
- Launch, facilitate, or contribute to any form of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, flooding attack, or other disruptive network activity.
- Attempt to exploit, compromise, or gain unauthorized access to any system, network, device, or data.
- Target critical infrastructure, including but not limited to government systems, emergency services, healthcare systems, or financial infrastructure, without explicit authorization.
- Scan private, internal, or reserved IP address ranges (including but not limited to 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16) unless you are the authorized administrator of those networks.
- Perform excessive or abusive scanning that places undue load on target systems or the GlobalPing infrastructure.
- Circumvent security measures implemented by the Service, including rate limiting, IP blocking, or access controls.
- Harvest, collect, or aggregate network intelligence data at scale for purposes unrelated to legitimate network diagnostics.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without prior written consent.
- Violate the acceptable use policies of any network or system you interact with through the Service.
4.3 Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates these provisions, including removing offending content, suspending or terminating the accounts of such violators, and reporting violations to law enforcement authorities.
5. Network Diagnostic Tools — Terms
5.1 Authorized Testing
By using any of the diagnostic tools provided by GlobalPing (including ICMP Ping, TCP Ping, HTTP/HTTPS Speed Test, MTR, DNS Query, Port Scanner, CIDR Scanner, and IP Information Lookup), you represent and warrant that:
- You are the owner or authorized administrator of the target network or system, or you have obtained explicit written permission from the owner or authorized administrator to conduct such tests.
- The tests you initiate will not violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
- You understand the potential impact of network diagnostic tools and accept responsibility for any consequences arising from their use.
5.2 Tool-Specific Restrictions
- Port Scanner and CIDR Scanner: These tools are intended for authorized network inventory and security assessment only. You must not use these tools to scan networks or systems without proper authorization. The Service includes built-in protections against scanning private IP address ranges; circumventing these protections is strictly prohibited.
- MTR and Traceroute: Route data collected through MTR may reveal information about intermediate network infrastructure. You must not use this data to target, attack, or compromise any intermediate network devices or systems.
- HTTP/HTTPS Speed Test: You must only test web services you own or have permission to test. Repeated or aggressive testing against a single target may be interpreted as an attack by the target system or its security infrastructure.
5.3 Rate Limiting and Fair Use
- The Service implements rate limiting to ensure fair resource allocation among all Users. You must not attempt to circumvent these limits.
- Automated or scripted use of the diagnostic tools must comply with our API rate limits and fair use guidelines.
- We reserve the right to restrict or throttle access for Users who consume excessive resources.
5.4 No Warranty on Diagnostic Results
Network diagnostic results are provided "as is" and may be affected by factors including but not limited to network congestion, routing changes, firewall rules, intermediate network behavior, and agent node availability. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any diagnostic results.
6. API Access and Usage
6.1 API Availability
GlobalPing provides a public API that allows programmatic access to certain Service features, including ICMP Ping, TCP Ping, HTTP/HTTPS Speed Test, DNS Query, Port Scanner, CIDR Scanner, and MTR. API access is subject to the following terms:
- API access may require authentication using methods specified in our API documentation.
- API usage is subject to rate limits as documented. These limits may change without prior notice.
- You must comply with all usage restrictions outlined in these Terms when using the API.
6.2 API Restrictions
You must not:
- Use the API in a manner that exceeds the rate limits or usage quotas established by GlobalPing.
- Use the API to build a competing service or product that replicates the core functionality of GlobalPing without written permission.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the API or Service.
- Share, transfer, or sublicense your API credentials to any third party.
- Use the API in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service or its infrastructure.
6.3 API Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the API at any time, including the release of new API versions, with reasonable notice where practicable. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify Users of material changes to the API through our website or documentation.
7. Agent Contribution Terms
7.1 Agent Network Overview
GlobalPing operates through a globally distributed network of agent nodes that execute diagnostic tests on behalf of Users. The network uses a three-tier architecture: the central server communicates with middleware nodes, which in turn dispatch tasks to agent nodes. Middleware nodes serve as intermediary task dispatchers and connection brokers. Agents may be operated by GlobalPing directly or contributed by third-party volunteers and partners ("Agent Contributors").
7.2 Agent Contribution and Enrollment
If you choose to contribute an agent node to the GlobalPing network, you agree to the following:
- Authorization: You represent and warrant that you are the owner or authorized administrator of the server, device, or network on which the agent will be deployed, and that you have the right to contribute its resources to the GlobalPing network.
- Approval Process: All contributed agent nodes are subject to review and approval by GlobalPing before being activated in the network. We reserve the right to reject or remove any agent node at our sole discretion.
- Resource Commitment: By contributing an agent, you acknowledge that your device will execute network diagnostic tests initiated by other Users of the Service. This may consume your bandwidth, CPU, memory, and other system resources.
- Hardware and Network Requirements: Agent nodes must meet minimum hardware and network requirements as specified in our documentation. You are responsible for maintaining the operational health and connectivity of your contributed agent.
- Availability: While there is no mandatory uptime requirement, you agree to make commercially reasonable efforts to keep your contributed agent online and operational. Prolonged inactivity may result in the removal of your agent from the network.
7.3 Agent Responsibilities
As an Agent Contributor, you agree to:
- Maintain the security of your agent node and prevent unauthorized access.
- Keep the agent software up to date with the latest version provided by GlobalPing.
- Not interfere with, modify, or tamper with the agent's diagnostic operations or results.
- Not monitor, log, or collect data about the tests executed through your agent beyond what is necessary for normal operation.
- Report any security incidents, vulnerabilities, or anomalous behavior to GlobalPing promptly.
7.4 Agent Data Collection
- Contributed agents may collect and transmit basic system information (CPU model, core count, memory size, IPv6 support status) to GlobalPing for operational and monitoring purposes.
- Agent heartbeat data (including timestamps, version information, health status, and time synchronization data) is collected to ensure network reliability.
- Middleware nodes transmit connection address, heartbeat status, and operational telemetry to the central server.
- GlobalPing does not collect personal data from agent hosts beyond what is necessary for the operation of the Service.
7.5 Agent Liability
- You acknowledge that your contributed agent will execute network diagnostic tests on behalf of third-party Users. GlobalPing is not responsible for any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from tests executed by your agent.
- You agree that your agent will only execute tests that comply with these Terms and our technical safeguards. GlobalPing implements protections (including private IP blocking) to minimize the risk of unauthorized testing.
- You indemnify and hold harmless GlobalPing against any claims arising from the operation of your contributed agent.
7.6 Agent Withdrawal
You may withdraw your agent from the GlobalPing network at any time by notifying us through the designated process. Upon withdrawal:
- Your agent will be removed from the active network and will no longer receive test requests.
- Any cached data associated with your agent will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policies.
- Withdrawal does not affect the validity of diagnostic results previously generated through your agent.
8. Third-Party Services
8.1 Third-Party Dependencies
The Service relies on certain third-party services, libraries, and infrastructure to deliver its functionality. These include but are not limited to:
- Ip2Region — Primary IP address geolocation provider. Used for IP address lookups to determine country, region/province, city, ISP, geographic coordinates, time zone, and other location data. Geolocation data is sourced from locally stored databases and is not transmitted to external servers. Supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
- MaxMind / DB-IP ASN Database — Used for Autonomous System Number (ASN) and organization lookups for IP addresses. Data is sourced from locally stored databases and is not transmitted to external servers. Supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
- Google Fonts — Web fonts served via the jsDelivr CDN for improved typography and multilingual text rendering. Your browser may connect to these third-party servers to download font files.
- jsDelivr CDN — Used to serve static assets including fonts, stylesheets, and JavaScript libraries. Connections to jsDelivr's infrastructure are subject to their terms of service.
- ECharts (Apache) — Client-side JavaScript charting library used for data visualization, including real-time waveform displays, latency charts, geographic map visualizations, and statistical graphs. Runs entirely within the user's browser.
- CryptoJS — Client-side JavaScript cryptography library used for generating authentication tokens required for WebSocket connections. Runs entirely within the user's browser.
- html2canvas — Client-side JavaScript library used for generating screenshot images of diagnostic results for export. Runs entirely within the user's browser.
- Server-side Caching — Caching infrastructure used for performance optimization. This infrastructure operates within our controlled environment and does not involve external data transmission.
- External CMS Integration — Blog and article content is sourced from an external content management system via an authenticated API. Content is cached locally and subject to the editorial standards described in Section 9.
8.2 Third-Party Data Accuracy
- Geolocation data provided through Ip2Region and ASN data from MaxMind/DB-IP is approximate and may not precisely reflect the physical location of an IP address. Ip2Region data is primarily sourced from Chinese-language databases and may be auto-translated for non-Chinese languages, which could introduce translation inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the accuracy of geolocation results.
- Third-party services may experience outages, latency, or errors that are beyond our control. Such issues may affect the availability or accuracy of certain Service features.
8.3 Third-Party Terms
Your use of the Service may be subject to the terms of service of the third-party providers listed above. We encourage you to review the applicable terms of these providers. Your interactions with any third-party service are governed solely by that service's terms and privacy policy.
8.4 Changes to Third-Party Services
We may add, replace, or remove third-party service providers at any time without prior notice. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that any such changes do not materially degrade the quality or functionality of the Service.
9. Content and Blog Services
9.1 Content Availability
GlobalPing provides educational and informational content through its blog, articles, and documentation. This content is made available for informational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.
9.2 Content Accuracy
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date content, we do not warrant that the content is free from errors or omissions. Content may be updated, modified, or removed at any time without notice.
9.3 Third-Party Content
The Service may contain links to or references to third-party websites, services, or content. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, and your interaction with such content is at your own risk.
10. Intellectual Property Rights
10.1 Ownership
The Service and its entire contents, features, and functionality — including but not limited to all software, source code, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and design — are the exclusive property of GlobalPing or its licensors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
10.2 Limited License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes. This license does not include:
- The right to modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service.
- The right to use any data mining, robots, or similar data gathering or extraction methods.
- The right to download or copy any portion of the Service except as expressly permitted on the website.
- The right to use the Service for commercial competitive analysis or benchmarking without written permission.
10.3 Trademarks
"GlobalPing" and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of GlobalPing. You must not use these marks without our prior written permission. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans on the Service are the trademarks of their respective owners.
11. User-Generated Content
11.1 Content Submission
If the Service allows you to submit, post, or transmit content (collectively, "User Content"), you retain ownership of any intellectual property rights in that content. By submitting User Content, you grant GlobalPing a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in connection with the Service.
11.2 Content Standards
You represent and warrant that any User Content you submit:
- Does not violate any third-party intellectual property rights.
- Does not contain unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, or otherwise objectionable material.
- Does not contain malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
11.3 Monitoring and Removal
We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor, review, edit, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion. We assume no responsibility or liability for any User Content.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
12.1 Data Collection
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.
12.2 Diagnostic Data
- Test Targets: IP addresses, hostnames, and domain names you submit for diagnostic testing are processed to execute your requested tests. This data may be stored temporarily for result delivery and performance optimization.
- Test Results: Diagnostic results generated by the Service are stored to provide you with access to your test history and may be used in aggregate, anonymized form for network research and Service improvement.
- Agent Data: Information collected by our global agent nodes (including system information such as CPU, memory, and network configuration) is used solely for the operation and optimization of the Service.
12.3 Data Retention
We retain personal and diagnostic data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in these Terms and our Privacy Policy, or as required by law.
12.4 Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12.5 International Data Transfers
Given the globally distributed nature of our Service, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We will take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
13. Service Availability and Modifications
13.1 Service Availability
- We strive to provide continuous, uninterrupted availability of the Service but do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times.
- The Service may experience downtime due to system maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control, including but not limited to network outages, force majeure events, or failures of third-party systems.
- We will make commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of scheduled maintenance that may affect Service availability.
13.2 Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, update, enhance, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, including but not limited to:
- Adding, removing, or modifying features or functionality.
- Changing pricing, rate limits, or usage policies.
- Modifying the user interface or design.
- Updating agent node locations, count, or capabilities.
- Revising supported protocols, record types, or diagnostic parameters.
13.3 Feature Deprecation
We will make commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant feature deprecations or discontinuations. However, we make no guarantee regarding the duration of availability of any specific feature.
14. Disclaimers
14.1 General Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GLOBALPING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
- WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS, NETWORK MEASUREMENTS, OR OTHER DATA OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE.
- WARRANTIES THAT ANY DEFECTS OR ERRORS IN THE SERVICE WILL BE CORRECTED.
14.2 Network Diagnostic Disclaimer
- Network diagnostic results represent a point-in-time snapshot of network conditions and may not reflect ongoing network performance or availability.
- Results may be influenced by factors outside our control, including network congestion, routing policies, firewall configurations, ISP throttling, and intermediary network behavior.
- Diagnostic results should not be used as the sole basis for network-related decisions. We recommend corroborating results with additional monitoring and testing methods.
- The Service is not designed to serve as a primary network monitoring solution for mission-critical infrastructure.
14.3 Third-Party Disclaimer
The Service relies on third-party technologies, networks, and infrastructure. We do not warrant that third-party components will function without interruption or error. Any third-party content, services, or tools accessed through or in connection with the Service are at your own risk.
14.4 WebSocket and Real-Time Connections
The Service uses WebSocket technology to deliver real-time diagnostic data, live test results, and interactive monitoring updates. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Connection Establishment: Your browser or client application will establish a WebSocket connection to our servers to receive real-time updates. This connection may persist for the duration of your active session.
- Data Transmission: WebSocket connections transmit diagnostic test requests, results, and status updates in real time. All data transmitted via WebSocket is encrypted using TLS/SSL where supported by the server configuration.
- Connection Stability: WebSocket connections may be interrupted due to network conditions, server maintenance, browser limitations, or other factors. We do not guarantee uninterrupted real-time connectivity. The Service will attempt to re-establish dropped connections automatically where possible.
- Resource Usage: Maintaining active WebSocket connections consumes system and network resources on both client and server sides. You must not open an excessive number of concurrent WebSocket connections.
- Prohibited Actions: You must not:
- Reverse engineer, intercept, or manipulate WebSocket data streams.
- Use WebSocket connections to send unauthorized data, commands, or payloads to our servers.
- Establish WebSocket connections using automated tools or scripts outside of the documented API.
- Exploit WebSocket connections to overload, disrupt, or compromise the Service or its infrastructure.
15. Limitation of Liability
15.1 Limitation
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GLOBALPING, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:
- LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
- DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICE.
- DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE.
- DAMAGES RESULTING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.
- DAMAGES ARISING FROM ANY NETWORK DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS, RECOMMENDATIONS, OR ACTIONS TAKEN BASED ON SUCH RESULTS.
- DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY ERRORS, MISTAKES, INACCURACIES, OR OMISSIONS IN ANY CONTENT OR DATA.
15.2 Liability Cap
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF GLOBALPING TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100.00). IF YOU HAVE PAID FOR ANY PREMIUM OR PAID SERVICES OFFERED BY GLOBALPING, THE TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID TO GLOBALPING DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100.00), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
15.3 Exceptions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GlobalPing and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, actions, demands, liabilities, and settlements including legal fees arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms of Service.
